But nooo I had to be a human who's prone to falling sick, having cramps and bouts of day dreaming tendency. Argh. This totally suck. I'm running out of coffee >.< Need to concentrate!!!! ~*YN*~ 11月19日 nightmares So much for buying stuff online. Seriously, this is the second time that the Charlotte Russe spree got cancelled and it was organised by the same person!!! I'm so not fated to get anything from there. There goes my christmas/ birthday plans. Argh. I'm not so thrilled to be growing up. Havnt been in a while. Well, you get to do cool things like drive (traffic police have backlog. I'm not getting my license till the end of this month), stay out late ( meteor shower was more like meteor drizzle, but saw a fire ball though), go clubbing( havnt done that in quite a while. need to let off some steam), lord over other people (little cousins to be exact, they just look so cute when squirming XD). But... things get old. I had to sleep for like 14 hours to make up for 6 hours sleep debt and have sore neck for the whole day feeling like shit cos I said something that I wish I can take back :( ~*YN*~ 11月17日 ROFLI have no idea if I can post this here. Read this past year exam question from GEK 1006 it goes something like: David was queuing in the cafeteria and an attractive person joined the line behind him. He worked up the courage to introduce himself. "Hi I'm David." "Nice to meet you. I'm Alice." Both feel electrified and as they chatted about classes and campus life. OMG... Electrified?! I kid you not. the last line is straight from the paper. ~*YN*~ 11月16日 finally!!!Spent the afternoon on ecology. Who says plants are boring? apparently they can shift upward in respond to higher temperature.
Then looked at photos of flies, beetles and their larvae, which totally freaked my mom out XD

~*YN*~ 11月15日 I've been studyingAt first I thought the gek I was taking was completely useless but then I read the textbook and found that it was quite interesting. Alright. Now I feel that I've been giving other ppl too much power in their relationship with me. I care abt ppl, most of the time a lot more than they care about me or so it seems. Other than my mom and madame I really think that no one else will ever drop anything to bail me out of something. There's just so many times that I've been left in the lurch. I guess I'd just have to stop expecting other ppl to respond the way that I do. I kinda think its because I only went to school like 3 to 4 days each week >.< Nevertheless now's the time to do some damage control. ~*YN~ 11月11日 Little jugs of joy I think yesterday was the first time I saw a pitcher plant. Apparently they are considered rare in Singapore.... Since it's the first time I've seen them, I guess they are. Only 3 species can be found in Singapore (if I'm not wrong...) So, for my biweekly ultra vigorous work out regime a.k.a ecology field trip, we went to Kent Ridge park!  But first we had to climb flights of this totally dangerous steps from hell. Seriously. The people who designed this should be made to climb it and be enlightened on the dangers of their design. Nepenthes gracilis slender pitcher plant Lowers pitcher They are so named because of the shape. The above are the lower pitchers (lower meaning they are found on or near ground level) of the slender pitcher plant. Notice the colour... I think the colour differ from the intermediate pitchers to avoid predatory.  Nepenthes gracilis slender pitcher plant Upper pitcher The slender pitcher plant is the most common pitcher plant. We did our "project" on this and turns out that the peristome (the opening) is mostly less than 2cm. We nearly died trying to find bigger ones, kena cheated by TA who said that large ones are easier to find >.<  Nepenthes rafflesiana Raffles’ pitcher plant Intermediate pitcher Just like any other big organisms found in Singapore, these pitchers are named Raffles-something (think rafflesia).  Nepenthes rafflesiana Raffles’ pitcher plant Lower pitcher Just like the narrow-lidded pitchers, the intermediate and lower pitcher have some morphological differences. Notice that there are extra flaps called keels running down the side.  Nepenthes ampullaria narrow lidded pitcher plant These are the least common pitchers found in Singapore. We only saw one patch of it along the whole trail. The cluster together, there are 3 clusters in the picture above. As the clusters go higher up the more dried pitchers were observed in the cluster.  Nepenthes ampullaria narrow lidded pitcher plant I personally think that they look like the jug things that they use to heat up sauces. Notice the narrow lids sticking out from the peristomes. Now that we have seen the different kinds of pitchers, let's look inside!  As you probably know, pitcher plants are carnivorous plant climbers. Though they are decidedly less exciting to watch than venus fly traps when capturing their prey, I'd have to say that they are definitely receiving their fair share of food. We poured out the fluid from the pitchers and here's what we got...  Full of ant parts. The one I poured out had mosquito larvae and some white wriggling worms in it. Apparently mosquitoes lay their eggs in them and for some reason the larvae can survive... and there's the wriggling white worm that were obviously alive, perhaps wriggling in agony.  Here's another one, but don't worry, no pitchers were harmed (I hope). We poured the fluid and the various insect parts back afterward.So now all that's left is the report that I have to write. >.< ~*YN*~ 11月6日 Alright I give upBeing depressed is really very tiring.
Trying not to be depressed is equally bad. My EQ really isn't that high. I can't seem to find the way out of this state on my own.
Looking on the bright side this would probably be a good thing if I were an artist. Too bad I'm not.
So I'm just gonna adopt indifference.
So I received my first ever purchase from e bay.

~*YN*~ 11月1日 i finally know whyI think the reason I'm so obsessed with driving is that its the best thing that happened to me in a looong while. Can't help but feel that the world is revolving and everyone is moving along except me. I mean, after the school changing fiasco 2 years ago I thought I could put this feeling behind me. Darn. Gotta start believing that somethings good lays in the future. Worked once, why not a second time? Till then, I guess all I can do is sit tight, "enjoy" the ride and try not to be scared sh*tless. ~*YN*~ |
