I really wonder how i can forget to mention this in yesterday's post...

 

Anyway, we were at my Ah Ma's house having steamboat.

 

Since their induction cooker died we used the portable gas stove.

 

It so happened that the gas ran out and the SD tried to change it.

 

Then the gas started to leak (erm.. in my face...mind u)

 

And the flames went out.

 

And YuX ducked under the table.

 

So i did wat was sensible: Turn the fan on faster speed to let the gas evaporate quickly

 

I distinctly remembered shouting to anyone who cared to listen not to turn on the sparks.

 

Then the next thing i noe the SD turned it on and started a fire.

 

while my ah ma was relatively immobile (probably scared out of her wits) shouting "bring the water!!"

 

But heck. Once the gas it used up the fire will go out anyway.

 

So after tt everyone was making fun of YuX taking refuge under the table and the SD was busy justifying his (honestly I thought it was hilarious although really stupid) action.

 

Hah. There would be hell to ppay if I hadn't moved to the switches.

 

Imagine the flames in my face.

Hey ppl I'm back!!!

 

Actually I was back last night but of course I was too tired to do anything

 

Ok... So this year I've been to msia and came back relatively  unscathed (apart from being majorly dehydrated... dun reallly want to use the custom toilets)

 

So I went there by car (my uncle came to singapore in the morning) and got stuck at the msia side for like an hour...

 

At least I was in a car and not being scolded by kiasu aunties XD

 

But the main thing is I have somethng to look forward to this year and didnt actually complain on the whole trip so the SD didnt have even half a chance of scolding me!

 

YES. I AM PROUD OF MYSELF.

 

Haha... So he vent his anger(I dunno where it came from esp if he seem to think everyone should "happily" gather in msia to celebrate) on the yee men and fried rice we had for dinner last night.

Whee~~ I just missed the count down... or maybe not cos it was like 35 mins ago...

 

But who cares man!

 

For some reason I'm like, ridiculously happpy now XD

 

I dunno why!

 

Considering that the day started out pretty bad and have to prepare for the yearly "get urself freaking tired" ritual of going to msia and heading back in less than 24 hours.

 

Was dragged out of bed at 8 am (on my first weekend after work, coming from a person who constantly complain abt how tired working ppl get)  gone through one whole round of verbal abuse courtesy of the SD even before breakfast. Apparently I'm:

 

1) a brainless pig (i gladly reminded the SD tt i was born in the year of the dragon... guess he's caught up in the spirit of CNY)

 

2) immoral selfish brat (i think this can qualify as 3 seg)

 

3)worse than a dog (in wat way, I'm really not sure... a dog can't actually cook a meal for him can it?)

 

Ang then I had to take 2 buses (4 bus trips in all polished abt $6.50 from my ez link card. Mind u, I dun get any allowance anymore ... with 4 ppl travelling to aljunied on adult fare, I thought it would be cheaper to grab a cab. But noooooooo! No cabs for this family!!! For tt suggestion, I was called...

 

4)... pampered materialistic brat

 

I'd like to say these didnt affect me one bit...but unfortunate, I like every other human being have emotions.

 

But hey. After 5 years of going through this full time one gets used to this bunch of crap.

 

So things started looking up when i visited my aunties (nai ma, 2 aunt and godmother)

 

As always there's lots of good food there to make my day.

 

But it was quite leng3 qing1 this year cos ah gong is still warded and ah ma much less 'spirited' than she used to be...

 

Realised that i can no longer hold an entire convo with her in teochiew :(

 

I blame tt on the lack of practice... shall speak more teochiew at home.

 

So i went home with my stomach full of goodies...

 

Oh, if anyone can rmb, the laksa cookies featured in the Sunday Times 2 weeks ago was fantastic!

 

Can skip the pasta part by buying the premade laksa paste.

 

Have to get ready for express trip tml... Finally getting to see Yu Han... So excited!

ok let's start with the good stuff...

 

Me, LT, Alvin and Aud met up on sunday to celebrate LT's bdae and I'm proud to say tt my chocolate cake was a success!!!

 

Talked a lot of crap (mostly it was listening to LT talk abt her students, sound familiar??)

 

And today started new job... still admin... but now its scanning stuff.

 

Ok... now, wat was I thinkng???

 

Not tt its tt boring and stuff... but the "sitting in an officr thing really gets to me

 

But looking on the bright side

 

1) I have a cubicle of my own

 

2) Geok is working downstairs

 

3) the people there are quite nice...

 

I think the only drawback is tt another person has been doing the scanning thing for a long time alr... so like everthing must ask her and I can't help but ask stupid qns (well, u noe me... I thrive on tt kinda thing XD)

 

Well, its only for 2 months.

Sometimes I wonder how I ever did grow up normally.

 

My father (from now on known as the sperm donor to the egg tt fused and form the zygote tt developed into me.. in short SD) thinks that working at (any) cafes will automatically push u into the sex trade and that spaghetti tops expose too much.

 

And these comes from a guy who enjoy watching beauty pageants, esp the swimwear part.

 

I mean, obviously he hasnt walk down orchard road for quite long...

 

wat? In the course of the past decade hasn't he come across anyone who just wear spags?

 

And the thing is that he has never ever stepped into a cafe before ("aiyo!!!  the food so ex!!!!) so how the hell does he noe wat happens in cafes? And wat gives the SD the right to judge the ppl working there?

 

Right. Maybe he lives a double life and constantly visit cafes to hit on waitresses and gals who wear spags.

PMS and the trauma of my (ex) job is not a good mix.

 

Ask my mom, she should noe... Being the only person at home, she's the only person who recieved my erm... (slightly) weird behaviour.

But went to meet JM and went to marine parade for a serious K session.

 

And then nearly froze to death, so Jm lent me her jacket.

 

But even then I'm still feeling cold. So she suggested that I pull the hoodie up.

 

The waitress chose tt second to come in with the drinks.

 

I think she thinks I'm crazy.

 

Might as well.
